New Elizade Varsity VC Visits AAUA, Seeks Collaboration

New Elizade Varsity VC Visits AAUA, Seeks Collaboration
The newly-appointed Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Prof. Kunle
Oloyede, on Wednesday last week, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of Adekunle
Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.
Prof. Oloyede, who was accompanied by other Principal Officers of the university, sought for
collaboration between AAUA and Elizade University.
Prof. Oloyede said, “We are looking for collaboration with sister universities such that we can
create a new generation of graduates who will understand that it is not just good enough to
work technically, it also has to be finished well. We are looking at how we can build our
students to have sufficient awareness and developed minds in the area of entrepreneurship.
Oloyede, a Professor of Medical Engineering who has spent over two decades in Australia,
added, “It is not just enough to call yourself a graduate in today’s world and come out looking
for job. Jobs are very scarce irrespective of the country you are in. If no one is creating jobs, no
one gets a job. In Australia, 90 per cent of jobs there are created by the small businesses.
“There are significant opportunities in this country. We will not only be giving our students the
basic education, but also the professional skills. You must have something you can take to an
employer.”
Responding, the AAUA VC, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, welcomed the visitors on behalf of the
University.
Prof. Ajibefun said, “I am glad to say that AAUA is ready to work with Elizade University. As a
new VC of Elizade University with overwhelming experience from both home and abroad, I have
a strong belief that working with you will be a great exploit for both Universities.”
“Your University has a common dream with ours. We are building a university that is
knowledge-driven, a university that aspires to do new things and a university that is determined
to equip the students with the required skills of the 21st century.”
The VC, who reiterated that AAUA is known for excellence and scholarship, congratulated Prof.
Oloyede on his appointment as the VC of Elizade University, saying, “As soon as you (visiting VC)
settle down, we will look at some areas that we can collaborate with your university.”
